Funding and Advocacy – Manager

The role will require on-going advocacy to ensure that existing programmes and investments continue to evolve and eventually become self- sustainable. This also includes the opportunity to seed and invest in ventures and innovations that have the potential to help cites achieve the SDGs. The candidate will assist in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with government, international and private sector partners. The key outcomes of the position are to be measured in terms of policy shifts, funding and higher levels of collaboration across sectors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing existing Strategic relationships
  • Advocating Think City’s value proposition to potential clients
  • Formalisation of high level collaborations and partnerships
  • Negotiation of multiple party agreements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in any field

Minimum years of experience:

  • 5-8 years of work experience
  • Exposure to government processes is an added advantage
  • Strong local networks and ability to build new networks (locally and globally)

Kind of Experience:

  • Track record in government related organisations or projects is an added advantage
  • Experience in delivering partnerships and collaborations
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated organisational leadership experience
