The mudflats and wetlands along the coast of Teluk Air Tawar to Kuala Muda are critical for about 20,000 migratory shorebirds. It is part of an international migratory flyway between the northern and southern hemispheres.
This project conserves the ecosystem and benefits local livelihoods by providing knowledge transfer through citizen scientists, installing ten educative panels and engaging local fishermen’s services. Over 100 people participated and contributed to ebird.org, a global repository by Cornell Lab.
