Take a walk down Madras Lane at Lorong Fest this 29th November to 1st December! Back in the 60s and 70s, Madras Lane was known as the entertainment hub of downtown Kuala Lumpur thanks to the iconic Madras Theatre that featured everything from action-packed Chinese films to great westerns. While all that lingers of the Madras Theatre is a memory, the area still remains popular for its delicious local street food and the wide variety of fresh produce available at the wet market.

Forty years on, the area remains popular for its delectable hawker food and bustling wet market. Lorong Fest is a joint initiative between DBKL, Citi Foundation and Think City to reintroduce Madras Lane’s rich heritage to new audiences to encourage sustainable and vibrant local economy.

Come join in the fun of Lorong Fest, a weekend long celebration that will feature live performances by RYOT JONES, Angel x Rocksta’, Maha Jeffery & Spooky Wet Dreams, film screenings, a photo exhibition, engaging arts & crafts workshops, a teh tarik performance, batik painting workshops, Chinese calligraphy workshops, and of course, food. Join us as we transform the wet market and open space carpark into a celebration of culture, history and food.
