OUR WORK

Kuala Lumpur

Creative Cultural District

Inspired by global best practices in culture-based urban regeneration, Think City partnered with key entities to develop the Kuala Lumpur Creative & Cultural District (KLCCD) Strategic Master Plan in 2019.

The historical core of Kuala Lumpur, known as Downtown KL, has faced challenges in recent years, experiencing a hollowing-out effect as essential functions migrated to other areas, leading to population loss, building decay, and safety concerns. Despite these obstacles, Downtown KL, rich in culture and heritage, remains a hub with enormous potential for revitalisation.

This plan aims to create an inclusive, authentic, and vibrant creative and cultural centre, weaving together heritage, culture, and innovation to enhance visitor appeal, business prospects, and overall liveability.

KLCCD contributes to the overall development of the city, enhancing its tourism appeal and creating a vibrant atmosphere that enriches the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
"Downtown KL has an existing creative and cultural ecosystem that needs to be preserved and boosted."
