Laneway Improvement Programme

As part of our efforts to revitalise Downtown Kuala Lumpur, the Laneway Improvement Programme focused on transforming dilapidated laneways into vibrant community spaces. The programme catalysed community involvement in urban design and public space management, and addressed inner city social problems in the area.

13 projects were implemented in four laneways in Downtown KL: Lorong Bandar 13, Lorong Hang Lekiu, Lorong Sisi Yap Ah Loy and Madras Lane. The projects were in partnership with a wide range of project partners, and saw 29activities carried out involving 1,830participants, including 282 migrants.
