ONCE an underused space, the Seri Sarawak Public Housing’s park has now transformed into a safe and welcoming space.
It is the second park under the “Merdeka 118 Public Realm Improvement” programme by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd (PNBMV), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).
The initiative is part of the broader KL Heritage agenda to rejuvenate Kuala Lumpur’s historical core through people-focused urban renewal.
Achieved through collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Think City, more upgrades are planned around the precinct.
Spanning about 16,000sq ft, the park provides more than 7,500 residents with a green space designed for recreation and community interaction.
“This meaningful initiative is a strong example of how Kuala Lumpur can progress through community-based programmes,” Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif said at the park’s unveiling.
“By working hand-in-hand with public and private partners, we are able to create tangible impact that directly benefits the community and translates into lasting positive outcomes.
