Grants
Cultural Economy Catalytic Grants (CECG) and Partnership
The grants and partnership are part of the Northern Region Archaeotourism Network (NRAN).
It aims to develop northern Malaysia’s unique tangible and intangible cultural assets to build economic resiliency, highlight the nation’s rich heritage and boost socio-economic growth. The NRAN was a RM 10 million project initiated in 2022.

  • Grant focuses on community engagement and participation by crowdsourcing new ideas.
  • Strategic partnership efforts target collaborations with local councils, private sector and other stakeholders, to build ownership, transfer knowledge and attract investments.
  • Focus areas are small towns and rural areas rich with cultural, natural and archaeological assets in the four states of the northern region namely, Perlis, Perak, Kedah and Penang.
