JARO has three sheltered workshops that specialize in book binding, basketry and tailoring to cater for the physically, intellectually and visually challenged. It aims to start a new lease of life for people to create a sense of independence and to reposition themselves with dignity in the mainstream of society. This positive attitude that JARO instills in them enables them to live a normal working life with pride and confidence.
This initiative is an adaptive reuse of the existing building which included an improved layout to allow seamless connectivity, purposeful facilities, and ensuring it aligns to universal design guidelines.
